What is ELTO?
ELTO, is an independent, not-for-profit company limited by guarantee. Set up to provide claimants and their representatives with access to a database of Employers' Liability (EL) policies through an online enquiry facility. ELTO is designed to help find the
insurer of their former employer where the claimant is suffering from a disease/injury caused at work.
ELTO is not a compensatory body.

Database
ELTO will build and maintain a database of all new and renewed employers' liability insurance policies. This EL Database is designed to make it easier to find records and identify an insurer and enable claimants to pursue compensation.

ELTO Search
The ELTO search is designed to produce details that help the claimants continue further investigation with the appropriate insurers. The results from a search of the ELD are not proof of insurance, or proof of liability.
